Communication for consumers regarding the safety in food production and the recall of some MILKA ice cream products.
To whom it may concern,
FRONERI Polska Sp. z o.o. started recalling some ice cream products in Poland. The reason for the decision is the presence of ethylene oxide (ETO) in one of the stabilizers – in a concentration inconsistent with the standards permitted by the regulations of the European Union – supplied by our supplier.
Plant stabilizers used in FRONERI plants in Poland are supplied as a mixture of various stabilizers and are used in very small amounts in the production of our ice cream so ethylene oxide in the finished ice cream products is I present in trace amounts and the likelihood of food safety risks is very low.
Nevertheless, this issue contributed to the legal inconsistency regarding the level of ethylene oxide allowed in the EU countries. Therefore, we decided to take preventive action by recalling some of the products containing the questioned substance, acting preventively and having in mind the highest possible level of consumer protection.
This product recall action applies ONLY to selective batches of MILKA ice cream products listed in the attachment/table in the PDF file. We cooperate with the local Sanitary Inspectorate in Mielec and our clients to effectively inform consumers about the recall of products from the market.
At the same time, we would like to assure you that the situation does not apply to any other (not mentioned in this information) brands, products, production batch codes marketed and sold by Froneri Polska Sp. z o.o.
For any questions about the recalled MILKA ice cream products, please contact us via the contact form available on our website:
We would like to emphasize that the health and safety of our consumers is our highest priority and we work very intensively to ensure the availability of our ice cream in the highest quality standard. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.
